Dan Deacon of the Rings

Seems like everyone’s got some these days, even Spiderman who is now also of them, like our Lord: Jesus? Moses? Moses vs. Predator? That’s one of the tracks I had to retroactively seek out from an old EP of Dan’s, and while not as shiny and drone-lactating as something like Jimmy Roche, it has its merits - they’re just more in the realm of say, high-level thought?

Now let’s get real Dan, you have no investment in thinking or thought. You live among a land of toys, like a child carelessly sampling the flashy sounds, and parties, all while trying to impress old anchormen on NBC.

I thought it was appropriate to say something about the man who inspired the design of Tunes Consumed in its final hours of color. The word is his music is called future shock, and yeah, I guess it is that, if by shock you mean awesome and by future you mean now

Dan Deacon’s latest LP, Spiderman of the Rings is out and for sale directly from Carpark Records.

He looks like the kind of guy I would love and probably worship. I can see the apeal, but when it comes down to music, as rediculous as you can be, it doesnt matter as compared to the sound. I’d smile at him in the street, but I have to admit; I just can’t love the music.
