So, it is almost officially summer and you are all looking at the calendar & muttering, “damn, that is a lot of free time to fill up with something exciting. What am I ever going to do?” Well! In the constant fight against boredom & apathy, I am pleased to announce that, Montreal, you ain’t go nothin’ to worry about.

Let’s do this all chronological like.

June 20th.

• Feu Therese, formed due to Fly Pan Am’s hiatus will be doing their improv/art/post-rock thing at the Sala Rossa.

June 24th.

• Out of hiding, Jandek will be bringing his atonal folk & blues to the Sala Rossa. Like all good vintages, this one’ll be more than $15 - be prepared to pay $18 in advance, or $20 at the door.

June 26th.

• Montreal dance/noise-making ensemble, Les Georges Leningrad, will be strutting over at the Sala Rossa. $13.00.

July 1st.

• Calvin Johnson and the lovely Julie Doiron will be serenadin’ the Sala Rossa. Tickets are $12.00.

• ttttttttttttttttt (x infinitiy) will be bringing their messy show to Le Divan Orange, to support ex-Can vocalist/guitarist Damo Sukuzi. Entrance fee is $10 in advance, or $12 at the door.

July 3rd.

• The candy-coated/political/cult army known as The Polyphonic Spree will be bringing their carnival show to the Metropolis. Conversions ain’t cheap, with the going rate set at $25.00 per person. Satisfaction isn’t guaranteed either, chumps.

July 7th.

• The ever-odd Barmitzvah Brothers are going to be rocking out the Casa del Popolo. No idea about how much this one’ll cost, but I bet it’ll be on the cheap side of life.

July 10th.

• Fujiya & Miyagi bring their electropop to Club Lambi. You’ll need $16.00 for this one.

July 11th.

• The quite possibly insane man-boy Dan Deacon is bringing his electronic army to the Sala Rossa. 10 bones will work in advance, through 12 is the magic number at the door.

July 14th.

• We are Wolves, one of Montreal’s finest dance-punk bands, will be driving out to Sherbrooke to play at the Téléphone Rouge. Should be extremely sweet.

July 17th.

• Battles will be triumphantly returning, after their success gig last month, to the Sala Rossa. If you are at all interested in seeing a dude go apeshit on his drum kit, you need to be in attendance for these guys. It is insane. $15.00, time is of no consequence.

July 18th.

• You haven’t learned fear until you have encounter the Gravy Train!!!! (yes, the exclamation points are part of the band name). One of killrockstars’ electropop bands, it is comprised of Chunx, Hunx, Funx, and Junx (who replaced original member, Drunx). Better watch yo’self. $10 if yer quick, $12 at the doors.

July 19th.

• Shit, I’ve been wanting to post this video since I saw it but didn’t have a reason to. Now I do. Aren’t you happy? The intense St. Vincent will be bringing herself (with Scout Niblett) to the Sala Rossa, for the cool price of 12 bones.
