The Poutine Projects are built around the idea of collaboration within an extended community. Our print zine, Poutine for the Queen, has featured more than 50 different authors during it’s first year of publication. It is a stand against the reigning pseudo-journalistic monopoly previously held on-campus by the Bishop’s University student newspaper, based in Lennoxville, Quebec. The mere presence of the Pout is a stand for independent media & forum. Which is exactly why we love it so.

The Queen’s lovely sister, Tunes Consumed, is an mp3 blog with similar aims. It is hoped that, as time flows & notoriety blossoms, contributors will come to the site & she will grow, like all good sites should. As such, the list of current contributors will expand and contract as dependent on such factors like: the season, the amount of candy in our stockroom, the time elapsed since our last pot-luck or vinyl party and the levels of flotsam in the sea. The formulae is nothing if not complex.

At press-time, the Tunes Consumed initiative is spear-headed by:

Tyler “the tybeet” Burleigh.
Tyler is the other Big Cheese. Having worked alongside Matt in founding, funding, designing, and developing all Poutine projects, well, he even lives on top of the same awkward hill. He heads up the core of the website backend, as well as any Photoshopping/Flashing that needs be done. Last.FM tracks his every iTunes move, if you are ever so inclined to know where his musical tastes stand, that’s a decent indicator.

Matthew Sigal.
Alongside Tyler, Matt is one of the Poutine Co-Commanders, having helped initiate both Project Queen Infiltration Strike and the Tunes Consumed for World Dominance Committee. He has been many things in the past, including the music director for CJMQ 88.9 FM, a house painter and a chef at a multitude of fashionable establishments. He also holds the title of being the current resident expert on Fireball Island. You can check out what he’s been spinning over at Last.FM.

Alley Rubel.
Alley likes the blues, the funk, the soul. She feels music through her colourful, kaleidoscopic mind, and she participates in the community-at-large by way of interpersonal contribution, as well as solid-state written pieces for both the Queen & Tunes Consumed. You can find her art headquarters over at deviantArt where she assails the visual spectrum. Here Last.FM scrobbles are over here.

Arlie Belliveau.
Arlie is our resident inventor extraordinaire & spearheads the Poutine Initiative & Party Committee. She can be found all over the internets, with her artwork plastered over at deviantArt, her videos on youTube, her soon-to-be-launched web-site, and her many contributions to Poutine for the Queen. Her abilities for getting green are unrivaled.

Changes, Maturation, & Interweb Puberty
In August of 2007 the site underwent a drastic change in appearance to what you see now. In earlier times, it was our job to look as ugly as possible. You can see our site as it was back then by entering a virtual time portal: just click here and be dazzled.
